The Neurobiology of Breath

The Neurobiology of Breath

A full day of brain science and practical breathwork, where breath meets the defence cascade, tremor, and TRE®.

This is a rare, in-depth day: current neuroscience on the brain circuitry specific to breathing, taught alongside real practice — four distinct breathing techniques, each mapped to the exact mechanism it works on — and, uniquely, a direct exploration of how breath and Neurogenic Tremor share the same defence-cascade circuitry in the brain. This material hasn't been taught before!

What the day covers

  • The brainstem architecture of breathing — the rhythm generator, the gatekeeper, and the live feedback loop that tunes it breath by breath.

  • The direct, monosynaptic wiring between threat appraisal and the breathing rhythm generator — why breath catches before you know why, and why a sigh arrives on release.

  • Four breathing techniques in depth, practised live: the physiological sigh, resonant-frequency breathing, humming/voiced exhalation, and box breathing — each mapped to its own lever in the circuit.

  • Where breath and tremor meet: the shared defence-cascade circuitry connecting TRE® work to the breath, taught here for the first time.Capacity is limited — in person and online.   Book early to secure your place.

“As always with Cheda’s Advanced TRE® trainings, I come away having learnt something new, and also ready to apply it with my clients. I feel really inspired by his down to earth approach, wealth of knowledge and most of all his ability to translate that knowledge into a hands on practical ways to work much more deeply and effectively with people. I leave this course having made a leap forward on my personal and professional journey.”
